New music from The Shining Tongues

Our (relatively) new project, The Shining Tongues, has a new single due for release this week. Make Us Eat was recorded with help from Robin Jax of RobinPlaysChords (additional guitars) and Andrea Kerr of Living With Eating Disorders (backing vocals) as well as myself and Sam Mclaughlin as usual.

The single is released later this week but you can hear it right now by pre-saving it on Spotify here: https://show.co/H2F08dO

Pre-Save Make Us Eat by The Shining Tongues

Even if you don’t use Spotify that much, pre-saving the song is still a huge help, so thanks in advance! It will of course also be available from The Shining Tongues Bandcamp page along with an additional bous track.

Love Breathes

Love Breathes - Artwork Love Breathes, our new single – and the first new music since Ascension Zone – is released today. Play it loud via your preferred method here: https://ffm.to/lovebreathes.owe

We’ve been performing this little hymn of self-surrender at recent live shows. Usually at a body-changing volume. We’ll be doing this again at Artrocker Club in London on September 13th.

Let us know what you think of the new music. It is, as usual, available everywhere but the version available on Bandcamp also features an exclusive virtual b-side in the form of a live recording of the song Dawn Accelerator. May the way out be as sweet as the way in.

Drum Drum Drum (drum)

Our new single, Drum Drum Drum, is out on 26th July. Pre-save it on Spotify and get a free download of our previous single, The Eye.

Follow The Infinite Three on Spotify

If you use Spotify to listen to our music there’s a couple of things you can do which will really help us. The first thing is to add our music to your collection. Next to each song or album click on those three little dots and choose “Save to your Library“.

Secondly, following us on Spotify is another big help and if you do it via this link here, we’ll send you a free download of Innocence, the title track from our new EP.

Many thanks!

Innocence EP – And Other News

Our new EP, Innocence, will be released on Friday 15th December.

During our 2016 tour we stopped off at studios in Newcastle and London to record several hours of improvised music. The most promising lumps of sound from those sessions were excavated at the start of 2017 and Innocence is the first fruit to be assembled from the wreckage.

Four new songs for you: Innocence, Hot Strings of Love, Like A Dog and These Animal’s Eyes.

Innocence is intended as the first of two related EPs. A virtual ‘Side A’ of an album, with ‘Side B’ – a sister-EP – to follow in 2018. The cover artwork is by Harumi Foster.

Also due for release soon (on the 21st December as usual) will be this year’s Winter Solstice song. For those of you who dont’t know – for the past seven years we have issued a new, longform piece of music every 21st of December. Every year presents a new creative challenge for us to bend and manipulate our sonic muscles for you in new and innapropriatly physical ways.

All of the Winter Solstice tracks so far can be found here:
https://theinfinitethree.co.uk/winter-solstice-music/

…Which is where the new one will live after it has hatched from its moist egg.

One more thing… There’s a couple of new(ish) shirts available from our merch store. The Lucky Beast shirt features Andrea Voisey’s amazing cover art from last year’s album and can be found here. And the Sonny Sharrock Was Right shirt can be found here, with all the proceeds going to the Youth Music charity.

More news soon.

Descension – Subscriber Album 02

descensionWe have just recently published the second in our ongoing series of subscriber-exclusive releases.

Descension‘ was recorded live at the Vinyl Cafe, Deptford at the end of our March tour. To hear it (and everything else we have ever done or will do) join us as a loyal subscriber and know in your brain that you are contributing to the ongoing survival of our doings.

A little background information on ‘Descension’. On the 28th March 2016 we played a show in the basement of the Vinyl Cafe in Deptford, a truly excellent record shop and general hub of cultural love. In the abscence of a support band we elected to play two sets: one completely improvised/instrumental set and, after a short break for “human activity”, a performance of our latest album, ‘Lucky Beast’ in its entirety. Both sets were recorded direct to digital multitrack. Improvisation is a core part of The Infinite Three’s working process but this was the first time we had chosen to make music in this way in front of an audience. The additional electricity in the air from the bodies and brains of the crowd seemed to assist us in our aim to levitate towards the great cosmic womb that hovers perpetually above us. In short, we were extremely pleased with the result. We hope you find ‘Descension’ to be a rewarding and enveloping listen.

Lucky Beast reviewed in Plattentests

There’s a review of Lucky Beast at the German music zine Plattentests.  I’m told it’s very positive indeed but my German skills are non-existent!
